Community and Event fundraising is notoriously time-consuming and laborious. In fact, industry averages suggest that they represent the worst ROI (return on investment) of all fundraising streams.
Such methods of fundraising are thus more appropriate for those organisations who have either a dedicated fundraising workforce or a large fleet of willing volunteers. In the latter case, it should be remembered by the charities that co-ordinating a large number of volunteers to approach community and develop event fundraising can often create as much work as trying to follow such options themselves!
Nevertheless, such avenues of funding can be extremely lucrative if your charity has a set of fundraisers with energy and commitment, and a good knowledge of your local community and contacts therein.
CFC can advise you on how best to manage such fundraising initiatives, and although our time resource means that we cannot ourselves become involved in such campaigns, we will be happy to help you identify up front the key potential problems as well as the pointers needed to maximise such efforts should you wish to go down this stream.
