We are a small team of three (but are also supported by a wide range of peers within the UK fundraising community with whom we interact for advice through our mutual membership of the Institute of Fundraising). Together, we make a very strong team and are committed to ensuring the best results that we can for our clients in Cumbria. We have undertaken considerable ‘recognised’ training modules during our time in the fundraising sector, and have gained not only a good reputation with UK funding bodies but also the contacts within the industry that can often prove vital for successful fundraising initiatives.
Dr Ruth Jeffcoate Director
After a distinguished career in Medicine, Ruth Jeffcoate joined the fundraising sector in 2008 working as Sales, Marketing and Fundraising Manager at the Lake District Calvert Trust. A newly-created post, Ruth took the average yearly fundraising income at the Trust from £90K to almost £300K within her four years in post. Ruth’s expertise is primarily in grant-making trust applications, but she has had wide experience of running major capital appeals, developing corporate social responsibility links and building up a wide network of contacts and links with those both within and on the fringes of the third sector. Jayne Malley Associate Director
Jayne Malley has had a long and successful career within Adult Education, lecturing and teaching in Business Studies and ICT. She joined the Lake District Calvert Trust in 2008 as a pivotal member of the senior administration team, but quickly became known as an effective and proactive fundraiser. After several rapid promotions, she was appointed Community Fundraising Officer, and proved her worth by breaking all targets set and expanding Community income from just £12K per annum to > £60K per annum. Jayne’s strengths lie in her knowledge of the ever-increasing IT world of fundraising, intelligent database systems, and her ability to engage and communicate with a wide-range of potential donors. She has joined CFC as a sub-contracted fundraiser, but retains her own independent business at JMFS (Jayne Malley Fundraising Support). Institute of Fundraising Registered Member: 100246

Continuing education programme
We have a strong ethos to provide both our existing and future clients with the best possible fundraising services available. CFC are thus committed to a regular and on-going ‘continuing education programme’ that is self-funded and intended to keep our fundraising knowledge both current, pertinent, and able to respond rapidly to changes occurring in our professional environment. We do this by taking advantage of both professional ‘webinars’ as well as by attending key conferences that have a prospective positive bearing on our service provision.
